About Us
Joey and Lisa have been working in the tree services industry for several years. They started their first company and successfully ran it for 14 years. However, as is often the case in life, big changes came their way. In August 2022, they made the difficult decision to sell their company and embark on a new journey in a different service area.
Cowboy Trail Tree Service has now been serving Southern and Central Alberta for three years and has just moved back into Calgary and Area. The last three years have been a great opportunity to rebuild from a wiser and more experienced perspective. So far The Sullivans, their crew, and the clients are loving the new Cowboy Trail Tree Service!

Joey Sullivan - Owner/OperatorÂ

Joey started in the tree care industry about 20 years ago as a Danger Tree Feller for BC Ministry of Forests Fire Protection.

He loves working in the industry but his favourite jobs are the removal of LARGE trees.
​
Joey has been an ISA Certified Arborist since 2012 and has extensive training and education in tree/plant health, risk, and care. With his combined education, experience and dazzling personality he has become a well loved Arborist by many of his customers and companies he works with.
Lisa Sullivan - Owner/Operator
Lisa started helping Joey on pruning and removal jobs before they started their first company when she was in university finishing her B.Sc. in Earth Science. As their business grew she organized the administration side of things, became an ISA Certified Arborist #PR-4893A, created the companies safety program, and then shifted into a consulting role becoming a Registered Consulting Arborist #624 in 2013 shortly before the birth of their 1st daughter. Lisa has continued her education taking courses in Insect & Disease Management, Plant Health Care, and more and is a Qualified Tree Appraisal, a Qualified Tree Risk Assessment, and an expert in Tree Protection Plans.

Vlad Correa - Crew Lead
Vlad has been a certified arborist for a number of years and has worked with Joey and Lisa for nearly a decade. Vlad is a core member of our team, personable and hard working. When he's not in the trees, Vlad is hanging out with his daughter or skateboarding!
Connor Strath - Crew Lead
Connor worked for Joey and Lisa in their previous business and is a valuable member of the team. He loves climbing big trees and has a great smile!
Tracy Houghton - Administrative Specialist

Tracy joined the Cowboy Trail Team in the spring of 2023 to help coordinate the happenings in the office. She has proven to be a valuable addition.

Ian Waterbury
Ian has been a personal friend of the Sullivans for over a decade but first came to work for them in 2024. He previously worked doing saw work and seed collection. Ian has become an integral part of the team, always has a great attitude and winning smile!
